NURSE ASSISTANT
This course of instruction prepared
the student for the entry level jobs as a
nurse assistant. Graduate may find job
opportunities in long term care facilities,
hospital, home settings and clinics.
Students will learn the role of the nursing
assistant in the healthcare team, perform
basic nursing such as obtaining and
reporting vital signs, performing bed baths,
safely transfer patients in and out of bed,
assisting clients with basic hygiene,
activities of daily living skills as well as
to maintain the safety and promote the well
being of the clients while maintaining
client’s dignity. A certificate of nurse
assistant will be awarded to all who have
satisfactorily completed this program and
passed all curriculums with a passing grade
of 70% or better. The approximate time
to complete this program is five weeks for a
day and evening students and a total of 75
clock hours.The approximate
time required to complete the Nurse Aide
Program is five weeks for the day and evening program.

Assistance
South Texas Nursing Academy will partner
with our externship support facilities to
assist our students in job placement as well
as working with our local workforce
commission, hospitals, long term care
facilities and private employment agencies.
All students graduating from program will be
assisted for placement upon graduation.
Students will be instructed to enroll with
The Workforce Commission. Students will be
encouraged to search the newspaper ads, the
internet and will be provided job leads via
school contacts
